Bits and pieces

Hungary is now claiming that Ukraine is an artificial state partially because Stalin annexed Transcarpathia and Ruthenia in 1939-40. Those lands were previously a part of Hungary. "Time has come to restore justice", claimed a Hungarian parliamentarian. And now Traian Basescu, Romania's president is demanding to "reformat" Ukraine to return North and South Bessarabia which were, you guessed it, grabbed by Stalin in 1939-40. With a possible loss of Odessa, not to mention Ukraine's entire East and Crimea, the question becomes how much of that country will remain.  Given Ukraine's history of antisemitism going back  to Chmelnitzky, yemach shmo, this is beginning to look like a case of Divine justice unfolding with amazing speed. We must be close to אַחֲרִית הַיָּמִים. With Hashem's help, it should all be be'rachamim.
